World Brain Day
Organizer
World Federation of Neurology
Wanneer: jaarlijks, 22 juli.
World Brain Day reminds us of the founding of the World Federation of Neurology on 22 July 1957. The day is also known as The Day of the Brain.
About this day
The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) focuses mainly on the world’s poorest countries. This has been the case since the organisation was founded in the 1950s. Yet this does not imply that the day is only about those countries. It is about making people aware that everyone counts, regardless of origin or (neurological) condition. To emphasise this, they chose the date of 22 June, i.e. the founding date of the WFN, to remind people of this.
Information on website
Information about World Brain Day can be found on the WFN website. A dedicated website is available each year. As a rule, the URL consists of wfneurology.org/world-brain-day-<<YEAR>>. For example, for 2021 it was wfneurology.org/world-brain-day-2021 and for 2023 it was wfneurology.org/world-brain-day-2023. The 2024 entry can then be found again via wfneurology.org//world-brain-day-2024.
