Lego Build Day
When: anually, December 27.
On December 27, it’s Lego Build Day. Officially it’s one day, but it’s best to consider the period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve as a good time to start building Lego. It doesn’t matter what you build, as long as you build.
The Lego® Builder app
The Lego® Builder app is a new way to view instructions for Lego sets. This app is available via App Store and Google Play. The instruction app replaces the paper instructions. Yet the paper versions of the instructions that come with the Danish company’s sets will not disappear. Those will simply remain.
Perfect moment
De dag is eigenlijk een aanzet voor een langere periode om te bouwen. Dat is de periode tussen kerst en oud en nieuw (27 december en 31 december). Kom je er echt niet uit, dan is het nog steeds een perfect moment om te bouwen. Dit is mogelijk dankzij de Random Idea Generator.
Introduction?
Say, does Lego need an introduction? Whether it is a toy or not is constantly under discussion. Children play with it every day. Adults build with it. So with that, it is not just a toy. Sets are marketed that are specially made for certain age groups. Those sets are not suitable for children. They are meant to be put down and looked at. To admire.
Unofficial day: Lego Day
Besides this day, in January every year, there is an unofficial day called Lego Day. This day commemorates the fact that the patent for the Lego system as we know it today was filed by Godtfred Kirk Christiansen (8 July 1920 – 13 July 1995). He was one of the sons of the company’s founder Ole Kirk Christiansen (7 April 1891 – 11 March 1958).
