When: Annually, first Saturday of October.
In the Netherlands, on the first Saturday of October, a large number of Dutch recycling shops take part in the Nationale Kringloopdag,the (Dutch) National Recycling Day. The day is mainly there to showcase the activities of shops affiliated with Keurmerk Kringloop Nederland, which is a quality mark for recycling in The Netherlands.

BKN

Not every thrift shop in the Netherlands has the hallmark. This quality mark is an initiative of Branchevereniging Kringloop Nederland (BKN), the trade association for recycling shops in The Netherlands. This quality mark, also known as 100%Kringloop, shows that the companies stand for certain goods. This is BKN’s mission and it consists of supporting or sustaining the circular economy, an inclusive society and projecting and working based on professionalism. Members affiliated with the trade association do not work from the point of view of making a profit. They are, for example, members with a social purpose or a social purpose.
